March Collage- N*V*S

i was utterly inspired to come across the Nerdy*Victorious*Scrappers blog last month, what a creative concept! no particular rules or prompts, they simply post an awesome collage, chock full of pretties to pull inspiration from. WAY fun. and their design team knocks it outta the park every time!

the collage for march was gorgeous, an incredible color combo with lots of bling:

and from that i made this page, of myself and a treasure chest at the Denver aquarium.

the photo is dark, but the base is dark red Core'dinations carstock, with a black finish to the texture, with a thick strip of black layered on top. i love the over-all dark "pirate-y", bling-y feel of the page:)
i used:
- red Core'dinations carstock
- dark green American Crafts carstock
- Sassafras Lass journaling tag sticker
- gold Urban Bling glitter sticker letters

Priceless- The Pink Ninjas!

holy cow. THIS was fun! Prompt #33 over at The Pink Ninjas was AMAZING! the prompt itself was "priceless", the technique was distressed and the pink twist was paint.

i knew right off the bat i would scrap this photo of my BFF Heathers disaster yellow cupcakes. they came out looking like fried eggs. it was hysterical.
i used distress ink to ink the edge of the green cardstock, the painted it with a bit of pink acrylic paint. my title was made from the negative space of an old sheet of colorful KI memories punch-out alphas, that i trimed down.
once i punched the alpahs out, i simply cut the negative portion out, and trimmed around the letter. voila!
products used :
- yellow heart PP is Sassafras Lass
- striped PP is older Dooodlebug
- orange cardstock is Cricut/Provo Craft
- distress ink is Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo"
- jornaling card is October Afternoon
- felt cupcakes are Jolee's
- glitter letters are Doodlebug "Shin Dig"

Bi-Scrapathon!

a few weeks ago, the lovely Miss Jamie posted a link at 2peas, about the "Bi-Scrapathon" scrapbook swap challenge over at Write Click Scrapbook. Essentially you find a buddy, form a team, swap some pics, work out the page size & other details, and set a deadline to send them to each other. adorable! so i emailed Jamie, we formed a pink-themed team, decided on 8x8 pink themed LOs, swapped and gave each other a week to finish and mail back.
holy cow it was a TON of fun. i dont scrap 8x8 (ever) so it was really out of my element and i really enjoyed it.
here is the page i made of Jamie, titled "Miss J"

and here is the INCREDIBLE page she made of yours truly, called "Shady Lady"HELLO! AMAZING! she used pink cocktail umbrellas ON the page! Jamie is amazing. check out her blog: paperheART project we have agreed this was a blast and that we will swap more pictures soon :)
