Sketchbook: Sketch 4

I seriously love doing these sketches so much. they are so inspiring.. i fully intend to do all 12 sketches all over again- with totally different results I imagine :)
here is my take on Sketch 4
"Keystone Lake"
As most of you know, J is spending the summer backpacking around North America with his BFF. it has been an amazing adventure so far- its incredible to see what each new day brings. with all our modern technology, we are able to speak & text almost every single day, & they both take loads of pics (camera, phone, ipod, whatever) and get them to me somehow (text/email) so i can document the trip on my end. it has been so fun for me! using his commentary from texts or phone calls and keeping a running journal of their travels. def why we all scrapbook, right? to document these amazing experiences in our lives and share them with family & friends for generations to come.
I'm doing this travel album 8x8, which i am LOVING. i scrap 12x12 and 12x12 ONLY. so this has just been a creative BLAST. this picture is from OK- they guys spent 2 weeks here in Oklahoma in June. Along with our son, my brother & step-dad- they took a couple "boys only" camping and fishing trips. :)
I'll never be able to express how fun this page was to put together. lots of stamping. and it came together E-X-A-C-T-L-Y how i envisioned. love love love it!

i stamped the journaling box onto a Studio Calico "State Fair" tag with the journaling stamp from the "Whodunit?" kit. then i stamped the title with the SC Jett Alpha ("Napa Valley" kit) with JBS "Chicken Feed" ink & then embossed it with copper ZING! it matches the foil stripes of the PP perfectly :)
next, i cut a circle from an October Afternoon "Rocket Age" paper very specifically, to get the cute stars and leave room for the moon. the Man in the Moon stamp is Studio Calico ("Paper Moon" kit) and i used a great white chalk ink, to give the whole thing exactly the soft white look i was after! yay!

please keep checking back, i worked quite a bit ahead on Sketchbook so i have the next few pages all ready to post!
XOXO
